Description: This video explores the multi trig feature added in firmware v1.1.3 to Grandmother’s Global Settings. Multi trig is a synthesizer feature that refers to how envelopes are triggered based on your playing style. Typically on a synthesizer with a single envelope, depending on whether notes are played staccato (the played key gets released before playing the next key) or legato (note transitions are smooth without a distinct key release), the envelope will get re-triggered on staccato passages, but won’t on legato passages. Multi trig allows you to tell Grandmother to always re-trigger the envelope with a new note press, even in legato passages. For synthesists who lack a lot of experience with keyboard articulation, multi trig is a really convenient way to get predictable behavior from the envelopes in your patches—without needing to adjust your playing style.
